About the Artwork:

The Abandoned Delivery Ship is an original painting inspired by the Planet Express ship from Futurama, reimagined through my Abandoned Collection as an interplanetary delivery ship left behind long after its final journey through the future.

There's something strange about the future. We spend our entire lives moving towards it, but we can never see what's waiting for us there.

For Fry, that changed in an instant. He fell asleep in one world and woke up a thousand years later in another. Everything familiar was gone. The people he knew were gone. The places he remembered had changed beyond recognition. Somehow, inside the future he never asked for, he had to build another life.

At first, that future seemed almost impossibly exciting. There were aliens, robots, strange planets, impossible technology, and an entire universe that suddenly felt available to explore. The Planet Express ship carried Fry and his new family into that unknown again and again. Every delivery became another opportunity to discover somewhere they had never been before.

But now the engines are silent... There are no packages left to deliver and no strange planets waiting at the other end of the journey. Nobody is arguing in the cockpit. Nobody is calculating another route. A shit that spent its existence carrying people toward whatever came next has come to a stop.

I think there's something incredibly human about that.

We're all traveling into a future we can't see. We make plans, set goals, fall in love, start families, build careers, chase dreams, and convince ourselves that somewhere ahead of us is a version of life where everything finally makes sense. We spend so much time thinking about where we're going that itcan become easy to forget that every mile forward is also taking us farther away from somewhere we've already been.

That's the price of having fun.

You can't become who you're going to be without eventually leaving behind who you were. You can't discover the next chapter without finishing the one you're currently living. Sometimes getting the life you once dreamed about means looking backward and realizing just how far you've traveled from the person who originally dreamed it.

Fry was given perhaps the most extreme version of that experience imaginable. He could never truly go home. But over time, something beautiful happened. The strange future that initially represented everything he had lost slowly became the place where he found friendship, purpose, love, and another family.

Maybe home isn't alwyas the place we came from... sometimes it's something we build after arriving somewhere we never expected to be.

Time has taken its course in this painting, but there's an additional contradiction in abandoning something form Futurama... we usually imagine abandoned objects as remnants from the past, but this one is a remnant of the future.

Maybe eventually those become the same thing.

We don't get to know exactly where we're going in this life... we just get to choose who we travel with, what we carry, and whether we're willing to keep moving toward whatever comes next.

I created this series to reconnect with my inner child. It’s nice to take a second to remember the things I loved when I was younger... Nothing lasts forever, so appreciate things before they’re gone! I hope this collection will help you in a similar way.
