About the Artwork:
The Abandoned Green Eclipse is an original painting inspired by the iconic green Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Brian O'Conner in The Fast and the Furious, reimagined through my Abandoned Collection as both an iconic car lost in time and a memorial to Paul Walker.
Long before I painted this piece, people had been asking me to abandon something from The Fast and the Furious. After Paul Walker passed away, that idea became something different.
The Eclipse sits weathered and forgotten beneath a blue sky, its tires gone and weeds growing around what remains. Bullet holes from a familiar scene have rusted into the body. Scattered nearby are fragments of Brian's story... a tuna sandwich, Converse shoes, a police badge, handcuffs, a watch, and the keys that once represented a choice between the life he was supposed to live and the people he had grown to love.
In the distance stands a billboard dedicated to Paul.
R.I.P. ❤️
There's something strange about watching an old movie after someone in it has died.
The story hasn't changed. The scenes happen exactly as they always did. The car still moves. The jokes still land. The characters are still young. Somewhere inside that film, Paul Walker is still smiling, still driving, still completely unaware that millions of people will someday watch those same moments differently.
Maybe that's one of the strange gifts of art... People leave. The things they created don't always leave with them.
A movie can preserve someone's laugh. A photograph can hold an afternoon forever. A song can return a voice to a room. For a few hours, a person can remain exactly as we remember them while the rest of the world continues getting older.
That's what this painting eventually became for me.
The abandoned Eclipse isn't only about what happens to a car after the race is over. It's about what remains after someone reaches the end of the road before the rest of us were ready to say goodbye.
The car stopped... but the story hasn't.
This is an independent artistic interpretation inspired by Brian O'Conner's green Eclipse from The Fast and the Furious, created in remembrance of Paul Walker. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Fast & Furious franchise, Universal Pictures, Paul Walker's Estate, Mitsubishi Motors, or the respective rights holders.
I created this series to reconnect with my inner child. It’s nice to take a second to remember the things I loved when I was younger... Nothing lasts forever, so appreciate things before they’re gone! I hope this collection will help you in a similar way.
RIP Paul.
