About the Artwork:

The Abandoned 90's Play Place is an original painting inspired by the colorful McDonald's restaurants many of us remember from the 1990's, reimagined through my Abandoned Collection as a forgotten piece of childhood slowly being reclaimed by time.

Before fast-food restaurants become increasingly modern, minimal, and familiar, some of them felt almost like strange little worlds built specifically for kids. There were bright colors, characters, playgrounds, birthday parties, toys, and memories that had very little to do with the food itself.

For many of us who grew up during that era, these places became part of the background of childhood.

This painting imagines what happens when one of those places is simply left behind.

The colors fade... The building deteriorates... The playground becomes quiet. Something that once felt loud, exciting, and full of life becomes strangely still.

Like much of my Abandoned Collection, this piece isn't really about the restaurant itself... Its about nostalgia, memory, and the uncomfortable realization that the places we remember from childhood don't remain frozen in time simply because our memories of them do.

Sometimes we don't realize an era has ended until we go looking for it and discover that the world we remember isn't there anymore.

The Abandoned 90's Play Place is an original artistic interpretation inspired by McDonald's restaurant imagery form the 1990's and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by McDonald's Corporation.

I created this series to reconnect with my inner child. It’s nice to take a second to remember the things I loved when I was younger... Nothing lasts forever, so appreciate things before they’re gone! I hope this collection will help you in a similar way.
