About the Artwork:

The Abandoned Tow Truck is an original painting inspired by Tow Mater from Cars, reimagined through my Abandoned Collection as an old tow truck finally left stranded himself.

There's something strangely sad about an abandoned tow truck.

It's entire purpose is helping other vehicles when they can't keep moving. When somebody breaks down, gets stuck, or needs to be pulled out of somewhere they couldn't escape from on their own, the tow truck is the thing that comes to get them.

But who comes for the tow truck?

Some people spend so much of their lives being useful to everyone around them that usefulness slowly becomes part of their identity. THey're the person you call when something goes wrong. The one who fixes things. The one who shows up. The one who carries a little more weight because somebody has to.

Sometimes the people who are best at helping everyone else become the worst at admitting when they need help themselves.

This painting imagines that dependable old tow truck after eventually becoming stranded too. The engine has gone quiet. The rust has taken completely over. The vehicle that spent its life pulling others forward can no longer move itself.

Maybe there's a reminder hidden somewhere inside that... Being strong doesn't mean never getting stuck... Being dependable doesn't mean carrying everything alone... Being useful to other people was never the thing that made you worth caring about in the first place.

Sometimes even the tow truck needs a tow.

I created this series to reconnect with my inner child. It’s nice to take a second to remember the things I loved when I was younger... Nothing lasts forever, so appreciate things before they’re gone! I hope this collection will help you in a similar way.
