About the Artwork:

The Abandoned Evergreen House is an original painting inspired by the Simpson family home at 742 Evergreen Terrace from The Simpsons, reimagined through my Abandoned Collection as a forgotten family home slowly surrendering to time.

For decades, this house has remained strangely familiar...

The family was always there.

The lights were always on.

The couch was always waiting.

And no matter how much times passes in our own lives, we can return to this place and somehow find everyone almost exactly where we left them.

This painting imagines what happens when time is finally allowed to reach Evergreen Terrace.

The family is gone... The house is empty... The yard is overgrown...

A place that once seemed permanently alive has appeared to die.

There is something unsettling about abandoning a fictional home because the places we grew up visiting through television can become tangled into our real memories. We may have never stepped through the front door, sat on the couch, or eaten at the kitchen table, yet the place can still feel familiar.

Like much of my Abandoned Collection, this piece explores the strange relationship between nostalgia and time.

As we grow older, our lives change... People come and go... Homes are sold... Childhoods end almost without realizing...

But the worlds preserved inside our memories don't seem to age with us.

So I wanted to let this one age... To imagine the day when nobody comes home anymore.

A house doesn't have to be real for us to remember what it felt like when everyone was still there.

The Abandoned Evergreen House is an independent artistic interpretation inspired by the Simpson family home from The Simpsons and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The Simpsons or its respective rights holders.

I created this series to reconnect with my inner child. It’s nice to take a second to remember the things I loved when I was younger... Nothing lasts forever, so appreciate things before they’re gone! I hope this collection will help you in a similar way.
